I've spent already some time since 2024 working contract work for
National University. Among the many projects
worked there one of the biggest was the transitioning of its pages, contents and branding from National University to
Northbridge University. This has been a recent development in 2026.
The process involved some harsh hours to get all the elements and coordinating all the efforts towards the goal of
getting the bulk of it done by February 4th. That was a great success and they had a great party about it. Being a
remote worker I couldn't be there though but I did get to see the live unveiling in YouTube and chat with some of
the people involved in this process as it was quite a historical event. I've been working with this institution on
and off for more than 15 years so it hits me different as I've seen it grow from its humble beginnings into this new
powerhouse it is today.
Some projects I've been working on since I got into NUC/NU back in November 2024
include:
Libguides Modifications: The Libguides "guides" are not a pretty thing to look at. Most of the time they look like 1994 style pages. However they provide a structured way of entering information and data, images and content. With some creative integration of CSS and JS one can actually make them look much better. These images represent some of the guides that I worked on and made look better while integrating responsiveness.
Among the things I developed based on a previous project was a way to load YouTube videos directly on a player in the same window/webpage so that the users can keep their focus and not venture out of their assigned content: This also adds some richness to the webpages. This among other elements I managed to make responsive and compliant with accessibility as it is usually something I try to include while optimizing processes for any client/office I work on/for.
LMS: The modifications for specific login depending on the school branding - this was a special project to modify the logins depending on the url instancing of instructure for each named school using their unique url to change the look/feel of the login so the student/faculty could properly identify where they are. This also mobile friendly and lightweight Optimized logo images and used SVG files to make sure they are full quality vector graphics and fast loading.

LMS modifications for gamification of course: This specialized sciences course needed to be graphically and functionally developed so that it could engage students visually and promote gaming style learning. It was a pilot program and was well received.

LMS Modification for Microlearning: This was another pilot course in which the information was delivered in more bite‑sized pieces and incorporated different strategies for learning and information retention. In both cases, I had to learn a new platform and system—this one called
CidiLabs—which helps with the design and implementation of content within the course in a more dynamic and workable way. This expanded the way content is designed and implemented within courses in Instructure/Canvas.
CTL Bulletin integration: RSS integration to the CTL WordPress site in which all the fields are integrated into the content and dynamically updated. The articles come from a MailChimp RSS and brings the thumbnail as well. I modified the script to look for the first image after the two logos that are usually within the header of the templates and if no image other than those are found to choose the first logo which is the institutional one. This is also responsive and mobile friendly.
Educational Week 2026: Development of custom scripts to integrate videos and a YouTube
channel/playlist directly within the content, also the development and implementation of the page and the
special previewer for the presentations in PDF.
My goal with any and all projects is to ensure they are long-lasting and maintainable. There is often pushback from people who do not understand what goes on behind the scenes—who do not realize that improving maintainability and optimizing processes requires analytical skills, time, research, and a tremendous amount of effort. Ultimately, my real client is the end user, and my aim is to make platforms and interfaces easy to use and work with. I also strive to ensure that those with accessibility needs can still use the tools effectively, and that users on remote or mobile devices can work with them as smoothly as possible.
I am currently self‑developing an application that simplifies the generation of PDF certificates for their courses. The goal is to ensure that each certificate is secure, official, includes a trackable number, and is resistant to falsification—thereby adding greater value to the certifications. Additionally, the program will be capable of sending and maintaining records of the documents, ensuring that accountability, recordkeeping, and sustainability are embedded throughout the process.
